I see you are from Austrailia. I have noticed that the frame rail on the right side of my truck is set up for right hand drive. The mounting and steering arm holes for the steering box, and the mtn holes for the clutch brackets and a couple other things needed for controls are all on the right frame rail identical to the left frame rail. I wonder if this was a mistake in production or if Ford did this to all frame rails to keep costs down.

I think that they must have all been made that way set up for left or right hand drive. Nick's 63 uni is made that way. I just saw that when we were mounting the Jag IFS.

Hello From kansas, Nice Work! I Really Like The Look Of Those Finned Aluminum Valve Covers. I Picked Up A Stock Radio And Plan On Patching The Hole In My Dash In The Coming Weeks & Seeing Yours Has Inspired Me To Get Back To Work On It.

Here are some more pictures. Progressing slowly which is normal, I am always overly optimistic on timelines I guess but that is what keeps me going.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I am still hoping to make my goal of having it done Dec 31 2013. That is 50 years to the day it was driven off the dealers lot.

Good catch! Those bolts are for braces that go at a 45 degree angle to the frame. Father in law didn't think the bumper was stout enough to push cows or deer or Antelope or anything else that got in the way so he beefed it up when new. You should have seen the wrap around rear bumper he built for it. When I cut it off because it was welded to the frame, the pieces weighed 250 lbs. If I can polish the front bumper so it looks good the braces will remain. But if not I will not put the braces back on. From what I have heard of the repro front bumpers they are staight and don't look good on these years of pickups.

I thought that might be it.
