Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I have all ways stayed a way from forums because people come in and just type mindless things. I'm a just the facts type person. Think it all out start the job find the issues adjust and finish at all cost. I'm not a building a burn the tires down at the strip or a GT car. (I'm trying not to jump in that mind set and its hard)(So want to do a N72 V12 6.0l turbo :)_ _ __] .
If I do then I kill my intentional use of this build.
Drive line: I'm going to be picking a set up right after I finish a ZF 5HP24 rebuild. I want the eng to in that sweet spot of the right load level just be for its lugging the eng so I have the full power band left if needed and keep my MPG on the highways. I hope this is a good clarification on what I'm after. I know that I will need to Dyno my eng and gear box to find this so I think I need to finish my pros and cons of the following
Ford 292 (has any one put the this TBI/EFI on one)
http://www.atomicefi.com/home.aspx
http://www.msdignition.com/Products/Dis ... butor.aspx
The 4.6 dohc set up on here I have been reading as much as I can. I have not done a build on a ford 4.6.
I know I would get a eagle 8 bolt crank kit(ARP bolts, rods ect) So I could go with the ZF 6 tans.
unless people here that have done builds have had issues or know of a better build.
BMW M60 with Getrag 420G transmission.
Wish I could drive a crown vic setup front end set up and the Jag.
I should just ask you guys does the Vic front end feel any dif then when its in the car after its installed on a slick?
F7bigjob nice trucks!
Thank you for your time the eng build is in my head and hands at this point... after I get finial input and talk to a few of you guys on the phone.
I'm so fired up about this build and picking up the new dog up later today. I'll be back on Fri or Sat. Pic of the Dog the truck and some more work on paper to make a final call on things. I know that I will go down the roads all ready traveled and put my touches on to them. also this is not going to be a show truck and I don't want people smashing a window to take a radio... But life is what it is.
Glass issues ? My front windshield has a crack in it. the rest of the glass is ok on this truck and it is safety glass. Any safety issues with the glass in the 62 ? Large shards when that get smashed now that it is old?
Should I change the front and back glass to a layer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) ?
I would like to keep my face looking like I'm smarter then I am
