frame restoration question

I sandblasted my frame, then sprayed it down with metal prep, then POR 15'd it. No sign after 4 years of any problems, but it has never really been outside. I painted mine on with a brush, in a well ventilated garage.

A body man I know warned me about the cyanide fumes off it. It is tough as hell, I used the frame as an anvil to straighten nails with POR on it. Never even scratched it.

went to paint store today and priced por15
guy said 50$ a quart

that seems kinda high, but what isnt these days?
is he in the ballpark? or is it cheaper somewhere else

A distributor has it listed on ebay and usually will throw in some supplies when you buy it there. You can also buy it direct (POR15.com) I think it sells for close to 50 a quart or you can buy like 4 quarts for 150 if memory serves. Bulk is how I have bought it in the past. Stuff also goes a long way!

Either one will give you excellent results. I used a foam brush and it looks sprayed. Only a couple a runs around x members because I dabbed in behind them.

Just be sure to top coat it. It will fade and get splotchy if left in the sun.
Even if you put the body on, UV light will reflect back up from the ground.
