WHOA!! The blue 1966 F 100 with the sign on it "Eat at the Hungry Flea"
I purchased this truck a while back. Truck was originally purchased by a gentleman in 1966 upon his retirement. In the early 90's the truck was acquired by the owner of this flea market/resturant and used as a sign. Unfortunately he fell upon bad times with his health and I purchased the truck this year. Original owner documented all oil changes on the glove box lid. Original owner manual was in excellent condition with his name and dealer stamped on it. Also had old gas and tag renewal receipts. The truck hadnt ran in about 20 years. Glad to report that after replacing carb/plugs/points/all brake lines etc truck runs great. I have put about 3k on it this summer. Truck has 43K on it and drives as good as the other 66 I have that has a frame off restore. With the documentation and the way it drives there is no doubt these are original miles. The only issue it has is a sticky lifter that hasnt gotten better. I have tried, MMoil, Rislone,Seafoam etc . So Im gonna have to get in it and fix it. Other than that its been a great driving machine.Been driving it on short local trips and long trips of over 75 miles. I dont need two trucks and rarely drive the one I restored. Been having to much fun with this one. Findem Fixem and Drivem. Thats what they were intended to do. Not set and fad away :D !

Hello all, I just found out about this forum from another slick owner that came over to buy my parts truck, and I wanted to introduce myself and my slick. Lenny here and I have always had a love for classics. I stumbled across this 61 F100 truck in trade for a 59 that was unmolested.

Image

It had a 351C motor installed already, unfortunately I didn't here the low end knock until after the trade. so apart it came.

I wish I had discovered this sight a long time ago. I may have done an updated frame swap before sinking $1200 into new leaf springs front and back

The bed had a sheet of plywood in it, so i fixed that up a bit. used poplar instead of oak. just bought the lumber and fasteners little by little until it was all finished :)

two years after I started this giant hole in my pocket, this is how it look presently.

oh, and the engine did get rebuilt completely...

It will never be a show pretty truck. In fact the intention was just to use it for runs to Lowe's, working around the property and taking the 4 wheeler places. I still need to do a few things to the interior and such, but I'll post more on that at a later time. I look forward to all the threads and exchange knowledge wherever I can help.

Most have seen mine. The '66 is a very fun driver I got in a trade for my '57 big window with member urslo.

I got the '62 uni as my retirement project. It's getting a bare metal rebuild. Dakota IFS, 430 Lincoln, etc.

I have a ton of pictures of the two links in my signature. But I'll include a couple of my favorites below.

Truck before he started tearing it apart

Powertrain after cleaning it up

After I took the front clip and Powertrain out and what it looks like today. I'm hoping to get back to the project soon, since I got another big project in the house done recently, which took a year and a half.

I plan on doing a body on restoration versus the body off restoration and painting the underside of the body with black rust inhibitor that will be sprayed on. I have a lot of welding to do in terms of patch panels and frankly everything else.

All the best and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone !!! :D
