I am going to throw another option into the mix here.....:)

I was looking at everything I am going to pull out of my 93 Dodge Cummins truck, that is going to transfer over to the Crew Project...

While doing some pondering the other nite, I happened to look really hard at the Heater / AC unit in the Dodge....Doing some redneck measurements
( hand touching firewall and marking forearm with pen)

I notice that

#1. The Dodge unit is shallower than the original Ford Heater unit...
Firewall to interior....

#2. The Dodge takes about the same space as the Ford heater unit, but
has AC built into it...:)

#3. The AC side of the Dodge has simple slinky hose for AC vents in the
Dash...
Any 89-93 ish Dodge with AC should be the same...
So looking at this as an option might be a fairly Simple swap....
I am going to use it on my Crew....
My Ac works well in the Club Cab Dodge, The worst that might need to happen is a bit of firewall magic... :lol:

Once I commence Hacking and Slashing, I will be sure to post pics....

OK.
Here is my latest update.
The unit I have is 1 freaking inch to deep to fit properly under the dash. The problem with these trucks is the ash tray and glove box doors weren't designed to have anything fit under them when they open up. So short of putting a spacer under the unit, you need to have the openings for the air to be about an inch behind the bottom of the dash.
I've tried several things for the plenum and ducting but haven't been happy with anything I've tried yet.
I have a bunch of balsa wood and some instant glue so I'm going to try to mock up a unit and see what I can do for ducting for the defrost. Actually, that is the only thing I need heat for in the base case.
I'm not giving up.
If I can actually make things work and look halfway decent I'll take pictures.
But not yet.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
