More Fairlane progress

Post by Phil »

Today's progress:

Wet sanded the fender I painted yesterday and the other one, buffed both.
Re sanded the scoop. Had bad scratches.
Fine buffed the car and assembled the extensions,
put on the 500 emblems, front signals, wheel lip moulding on one side, 1 eyebrow and trunk letters.
Bumper is hanging by 2 screws as I wrapped up for the night
trashed the garage, yard and kitchen. I'm beat.

PS which wheels do you like better? Stic5s or 14" Magnums?

Looking good there!
I like both wheels on the car but the size of the Stick 5s & the tires is kick ass on it! Big enough for attitude but not over the top!

When you live on the morning donuts all day, a 2 liter of Pepsi and let your kid raise himself you can get a lot done.

rough day today

The C4 I paid a garage-guy to rebuild sprays ATF everywhere in reverse.
I thought I fixed it but it did it again today. Coulda built a nice AOD for the price :?

bought a battery for it today and also a coil spring compressor.
If the rain holds off I'm gonna slam the front end about 4" tomorrow
It looks like Big Foot now.

I am kinda partial to the Magnum 500's. Here's a pic of the Galaxie I sold a couple years ago.

I like the other set of wheels though too. Can't go wrong either way.

I had the magnums on a 67 mustang and they fit is perfect astetically, but those sticks BLOW THEM AWAY! They make that car. Beautiful work by the way, I wish I were even half as talented as you, and I know you will enjoy the he#% outta that smokin ride.

Thanks!

Its a 15 footer now but I can deal with that.

Dropped the front last night by cutting a 1/3 of a coil but it hasn't been off the stands yet. Ill post pics of the drop later today I hope. It had about 4" of wheel gap

Need to buy some shocks and mess with the leaky trans again

Today

Bolted up the fenders and grill, installed the hood latch and locks. Doors are still shells,
stripped the door tops and epoxy primed. Pulled down the interior and tried to get it a little cleaner. Its still pretty grubby. Put in the carpet and insulation. Installed the hood letters, weather stripped the other door, touched up all the scratches from this week  mowed the lawn, busted the mower handle and fixed that, cut a bunch of plywood for my neighbor, blah blah blah
