Hello All -
This is my first post, but I have been lurking here for some time leading up to the purchase of my Slick.
It is a 1964 V8 Step Side **make that FLARE Side** I found on Ebay that has been restored to stock original specs.
I wrote up a little piece for my website that chronicles its purchase and drive home that you can find here:

I am really thankful I found this place - your enthusiasm and stories are very inspirational.
I look forward to getting to know this place better as I get to know my truck.
Best,
Californiagold / charlie

First...welcome to our group. Second, I thoroughly enjoyed your story and the pictures that went along with it...I could not wait to get to the next paragraph (sometimes line

) and view the corresponding photos. I can tell from your words that the trip meant a great deal to you, and as with all great writing, I found myself squarely in the middle of the picture which you painted. Thanks for the story and enjoy your slick...its a very nice truck.

Welcome to the "club" from West Virginia.... I really enjoyed the roadtrip story and the pics. I don't know if I will ever be able to afford to do anything like that or not (that is head west) but I enjoy traveling the coast to the beach for summer vacation with my kids. keep lurking and share your input when you can..... ... ..Anthony

Welcome!!! Your truck is very nice---and your are correct about the cost of rebuilding your own, it adds up quickly. Just an observation if you are not a writer you should be- you are entertaining and I completely enjoyed your experience--Thank You and Welcome again from the Heartland!!! Randy

Welcome from Louisiana. Nice looking truck. This is a great site and a great bunch of guys (and gal or two). I must warn you of a couple of things. First the Ford version of the "step side" bed are called Flareside's and you are in jeopardy of being afflicted with a disease called "slickitus" (the desire to purchase multiple "slicks".) It is not fatal, but can cause severe strain to the wallet, and an occasional slap up the side of the head with a skillet from the lady of the house (unless yours is like mine and likes Slicks almost as much as I do.). Again welcome to Slick 60's.
