New on the block

Post by The Good Humor Man »

Hi, I was told by John (trukcrazy) to get my talking of my 64 over to this board, so her I am.
I just bought this 64 Ford F250, and I also own a 67 Ford F250 Good Humor Truck, but I don’t think I can talk about that here because it is to new for this site, so I will talk about my 64.
It is suppose to have about 34,000 original miles, and runs good. I has volunteer on the side, and I was told it was a W. Virginia volunteer fire truck. I just removed off the front bumper, and winch, I just didn’t like the look.
This truck is my winter project, along with making my Good Humor trailer out of my 69 GH (good humor) parts truck I bought for the rear bumper. I am taking the GH freezer box and making a trailer out of it, the rest of the truck was basically junk.

Although I haven't owned a bump yet, I've owned a couple 77's...are those dips?

Your '64 looks like a pretty decent project from here, congrats!
That Good Humor is something haven't seen before...pretty funky. It looks like you did a good job on the resto. :)

The 73-77 Fords are called dentsides. :D It appears as though the 61-79 Fords are bringing all the forums together and will spread the common knowledge of these trucks to an even bigger group of FordFans. :D

A synergy is in the air. I like em all, starting from some of the 30s pickups up to the modern Supercrews.

the Standard names, as I see them are:

48-56's -Generically called Fat Fenders, although some call all the way down to '38's fat fenders. I've also seen the '48-52's called Bonus Built's

57-60's almost universally now called Fridges or Refrigerators

61-66's -All called Slicks, everywhere I go. No mistake.

67-72-Called Bumpsides on Fordification and FTE, the places to get info on them

73-79's called Dentsides on Fordification. These trucks don't seem to have much of a group like us, really deciding these things, so I guess Fordification Rules!!
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

Welcome Carl. Seeing more and more Fordification faces on here. I dig the 4x4 you just bought.

Personally I never liked "Dent Side." Bumpside is cool, but I think I like "Innie" better than "Dent Side." I'm going with "Innie" from now on!

The other identifier on these trucks is the turn signals above the head light (at least up to 78). There must be a nickname in there somewhere.
My Slick is rustier than your Slick! :D
