Not all 61-64 cabs are not the same, On this it does not matter if its a F-100, 250, 350 and up trucks or 4x4 trucks, This particular area makes the 1961 cab different from all 62-64 cabs , Now my :?:

is where is this area at, Lets see how fast it takes to get some :idea:

the roof has an extra piece in the center for mounting the headliner which is also different.

Oh yes the roofs are different Iceman is right, But that is not what I am looking for,, HERE IS A HINT,,, They do sell replacement parts for this part of the cab & everybody says fits 61-66 cabs as we do also but have seen different And under further review this part is for 62-66 & not the 61 Trucks, so lets keep guessing :hm:

well the next thing would be the cab corners and the indent issue.since i only have the 61 f500 and 2 61 unis i cannot be sure if the other 61 non uni cabs have this difference on the back or not.

Iceman is on the right track, The 61 & maybe 62 :?:

cab on the ident does not go all the way down like the 63-66 cabs do & this makes the the cab corners different,,, I do not have a 62 truck here except my uni so the 62 cab could be the same but all of my 63-66 's here on all size trucks have the ident all the way down,, The other day I sold a 4x4 61 cab & this is the first time I have ever noticed the idents on back of these cabs

ICE, when I took off that 4x4 cab I noticed the square rubber is pretty good & now I can see if I have anything to match up that does not have any part numbers on some of these items I have that are not marked :?:

i dont have any 62s to check out to further nail it down.
you need to cut the whole top section of that corner to get it fit right and welded.
i discovered the headliner/roof issue last week.

Would this have anything to do with the previous style refrigerator beds lining up with the cab indents. Seems like it would if it was an issue on only 61's and not 62's and higher since the bed was changed by then.

Not on 4x4's Max. except the 66 F100's they kept that box (Ice would say NICE box) on the 4x4's 'til the bitter end

Cannot say on that since the fridge beds were used on 61-63 trucks & the 64-65 4x4 trucks

Thanks Mike, thats the answer I was looking for then I'd say that idents on 61 trucks were the only year that did not go all the way down,,, Are we having fun yet :!:

Ice, I believe asked about the square cab mounts. I looked in my parts books for the number on these. I was unable to locate that number. These were used on all the larger trucks, and not on the pickups to the best of my knowledge. I wanted to try a set on a pickup, as I believe the front cab mount rubbers are to small on the pickups and these would give better support. I can find used ones but are seldom in good shape, and geet hard over time. Been watching Ebay for some of these, and have yet to come accross any. In my Ford parts book, I've noticed section on the rubber mounts talking about cutting out pieces from an old tire carcess, to make mounts. Not sure if they were reffering to the round donut or these mounts.

I know a guy that has a 61 that is not a unibody. His cab is basically gone,holes in cab seams around roof,floor gone,etc. If he finds a 61-64 f100 in good shape will it work? Can he use his seat,doors heater,etc and other parts on his donor cab or will he be stuck either fixing up the cab he has or seaching for a exact 61 f100 cab?

Oh yes 61-64 cabs will interchange the roof is different 61-63 same roof, 64-66 roof is the same & just cab corners different Rest of sheetmetal will all work
