A Sad Reminder
So, how slick are you'r Slick's brakes?
I loved this truck, but sold it to my wife's uncle for something with a back seat for my second baby. He traded it fo a motor home. The new owner didn't check the fluid, got in a fight with his wife, ".....and hit a new Ford Focus at 25 miles per hour".
The only thing positive was no injuries and I got it back fo $50 delivered.

Poor truck.
I agree, the frame looks tweaked in front...but the buy back price was right! What are your plans for it now?

If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

The focus looked like a cross between a tricycle and a Chevette. This truck has long been stripped of salvagable parts and then scrapped
I saved the bed since it was the best I had, saved the drivers door and title. The truck hit so hard that the front wheels where pushed about 10 inches to the right, frame was bent about where the motor stands bolt to the frame and the frame buckled between the cab and bed so much that the top of the front bed pannel hit the cab and dented it. The pivot bolt in the alternator snapped in half. The water pump impeller snapped also, sending the fan to the radiator. I was going to salvage the cab for my 65, but it had major rust issues and I found one in Georgia that was priced right.
REMEMBER: BRAKES, BRAKES, BRAKES! This guy said he was going 25MPH!

I ALMOST had a similar experience on the 23rd. I was coming down a icy gravel road when I went to step on the brake to slow down when the brake pedal went to the floor. At first I thought i had no brakes! But I pressed again and noticed I still had the front so I was able to keep the truck under control with gears and just the front brakes and made it to safety at the bottom of the hill. A rock had kicked up and broke a brake line in two on the rear end. I am so glad that I upgraded to the dual master cylinder setup otherwise I would have been upside down in a ditch. I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone even if you keep your drums at least you will have the saftey of a dual master cylinder.

I hate to say I told you so..... really I do .
But brakes have got to be job one for every one of us.
No matter how expensive the upgrade, brakes are cheaper than replacing an irreplaceable Slick.
Uncle Skip, still on the soapbox preaching.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.

I had my retared brother in law borrow my one owner 1970 3/4 ton camper special wih a 360 and factory air(without permission). I swore was a 390 because it had cahonies. while I was out on he road in my big truck he went drinking wih a buddy and when i got home i found it crashed and need a whole new front clip and windshield. I could have fixed it but sold it because i go mad enough to chew nails every time i looked at it. Its like loosing a best friend!!!
At least do a quicky line and dual MC upgrade like I did to my 66 short. Probably the most important afternoon I spent working on it.
