Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
Time for a update.
I've been in contact with the tranny shop twice now. They are still looking at the best option to get them the transmission. There follow up on this leaves a lot to be deseried but sounds like they want to get this right. We will see.
Jenny and I got the tranny pulled last night (sunday). Jenny helped a lot and wasn't happy because stuff keep hurting her. Like when she hit the started with her face. Ouch I thought as I hear the hit. The started was just laying there on the radious arm. That one bolt that holds the tranny dipstick tube was what we were working on.
Jenny has some more pictures I will upload later.
Yes I had did get a HF tranny jack like David had that was very handy tool to have.
I had to drain the tranny (per shops request) and when I was doing this I noticed a little metal shavings in it. Not good I'm thinking. When I pulled the toqure converter and drained it, it really had a bunch of while flakes but they didn't feel like metal so not sure what they were but there was a bunch of them. Also the converter had something moving around inside of it not sure if that is normal maybe it is. We will see.
I will keep everyone updated. Hopefully this shop gets there act together soon.

Chris,
At least Jenny is taking this well. Connie is obviously very easy-going when it comes to old vehicles, but I would suspect that all sh-- would hit the fan around here if we experienced your maladies.
If there's anything we can help with, including relieving Jenny on the re-installation, just let me know. As you probably know, we are heading back to KC mid-month, but I hope it's in and running by then!

Chris, Be nice to that girl, she's a trooper. There's not many women that would be that devoted to helping. My wife would be there helping me the same way.

Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
Update on tranny. I still have it. I called the shop Friday since I hadn't heard from them. Turns out the owner's grand daughter (21 with 1 1/2 child) found out she had terminal cancer and he said he hasn't done anything more on getting my tranny shipped up there. He did say he wants to get it there and get it fixed but he has been dealing with the other and appligized for not getting it done yet. He said he should call me next week with shipping details. We will see what happens next week.

Well -- would keep on trying to work with Northtown tranny as long as they are making some sort of good faith effort to try and make it work.PFM-64f100 wrote:Update on tranny. I still have it. i had some small flakes in my tranny after a rebuild. flushed the system twice and now it shifts fine. granted mine didn't have any moving around inside the converter either.

Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
I finally have a real status on the tranny.
They picked it up today and it will be in KC by end of today. The owner John finally started playing catch up with his work. I don't know if me asking for a refund got him moving but the good thing is the tranny left today with his brother. I guess it was cheaper to send his brother down here to get the tranny than to get a shipping company.
Hopefully they will get this fixed and return quickly (and a bouns it will work once installed).
Now I/we wait some more... Waiting is never fun............

Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
sounds like good news. Keep us posted. Glad it is getting resolved for you guys. I agree with alan I was amazed that you guys still had smiles on your faces during the whole ordeal. I am sure most of it was to not worry the kids as I know they were concerned as to how you guys were getting home. We will see you in 2 years and next time no complications,LOL...........Kid

Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
Update:
The tranny is now in OKC (thanks to memebers along the Slick-Hwy). I will be able to pickup the tranny from Gary next week then start the reinstall. Hopefully everything will go good. I am wanted to work and drive my crew cab again. More updates to come.

Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
Yesterday on black friday I meet up with Trukrat (gary) in OK. We meet at 2 frogs grill in Ardmore. Ate some food and talked a bunch. thank you Gary for meeting me half way with the tranny. Thanks to all that helped get the tranny back to TX.
When I got back to the house I unloaded the tranny and that was about it for friday. I had a lot to get ready for as Saturday was our turkey day since my brother had to work thursday. Lots of people and bunch of food.
Sunday I got some time and started to work on getting the tranny in. I thought this will be easy this tranny has come out serveral times and it should just pop right back in with no problems.
Got it mounted to the tranny jack.
Nice and easy place for it to go right?
Well I don't have a picture but it is stabbed to the back of the engine only took 1 1/2 hr for me to get it there. The thing put up a big old fight. I would get it started then the toqure converter bolts were not right. Next something else but long story short it is done now. I have 2 bolts in the bell housing and the touqre converter bolts are correct now. Next will be hooking ever thing else back up. Shouldn't be to hard right.

Re: PFM's 65 Crew Cab F250
Yes he did Gerald! They have a Frogleg meal there where you get three pairs of Chicken Fried Frogs legs,
along with two sides, but I didn't order it. Would you believe they even have deep fried chicken toes?
We met up Friday around 12:30 - 1:00 in Ardmore for the tranny hand off.
Jenny, JT and Mattie all came with Chris and we had a good lunch and visit.
Glad he finally has his trans back home and wishing him nothing but good things to come with it back in the "Crew." TR
