66 F250 Steering Wheel Removal

Post by jefflovesf250s »

All: Up here in the cold north where heated garage space is scarce, small inside jobs keeps the restoration going in the winter. I want to remove my steering wheel and horn ring for restoration with an Eastwood kit.
However, it is not obvious, to me, as how to remove the horn ring so I can get to the nut holding the wheel to the column. Any suggestions/pointers to assist with damage-free removal will be gratefully received. I'm sure there is a ton of experience out there in cyber space. Thanks. Jeff

Welcome to the site! :hello:
1st, unplug your horn under the hood.
Then push the center of the horn ring with your palm & simultaneously turn 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. It should pop off in your hand.

Make sure you use a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel, so you don't crack it bu yanking on it.
My "Slickitis" affliction began here...

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.

If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
