I have a neighbor who just got a 62 fairlane to restore with his daughter. I figure some of you guys may have one also and would be able to help with parts links and catalogs. I appreciate your help with out growing FORD restro neighborhood.

We were looking on www.cardomain.com at some of those cars and theres a
spirit in Midilothian Tx. its a 62 vert with a 260 auto top. would love to get that its only about 5 hrs away too. I think it had ac too but cant remember.

Oh guys also When i started this thread I got excited and wrote fairlane but
the car Is in fact a 62 falcon.

The guy traded a chebby pickup for it.I think he definitely traded UP!
We set the points put a coil on it and stuck the gas line in a gal jug hooked a hot wire to the coil and crossed over the silinoid with a screw driver and as soon as it got gas it started and idled.

I got a '61 with the very rare tube frame, 460/C6 option and 31/16.5x15 rear tires on 15x12 Centerlines. Don't know why you don't see more of them ;)

The first post lists several places that carry Falcon parts. Check about any place that carries Mustang parts as many of the suspension parts are the same as first generation Mustangs. Sheetmetal is kind of hard to find but there are several companies that list fiberglass parts in race and street weight. For sheetmetal you will lump 60/61 and 62/63 into two groups for the front fenders, bumpers, gravel pan. Doors will all interchange 1960-64 I believe. Same for trunk lids and hoods. The roof and rear windows are different on sedan vs hardtops.

Try:

www.showcars-bodyparts.com/falcon.html

They have about the biggest assortment of body stuff. I haven't purchased anything from them yet but the prices are in line and most of their stuff looks like the old A&A Fiberglass parts and molds.

Good luck,
SPark

I always liked the looks of the early falcons. Neighbors had a new 1963 Falcon wagon complete "still in the Crate" woodsides. Not sure what motor it had sure it was an automatic. I would like to find one like it now maybe with a 221 V8 and power everything.
