Slick 60's

So I was driving into work this morning when I noticed that my engine started losing power and would not respond to acceleration. I whipped out my phone to check my Voltage guage (no interior or dash panel lights yet) and the voltage was about 0.

I turned off my high beams, extra set of headlights, and aftermarket cooling fans, I check the Voltage guage again. It jumps up considerably!! I now can accelerate without the engine backin off on me.

HOWEVER, I get parked clock in, go back out to start it real quick. WONT START. Not turning over but it sounds like the battery is dead....??? Does this sound like a viable diagnosis. Please leave your thoughts and any ways to check.

Yes dead battery.
That is the result but you need to find the reason.
Do you have too much draw on you alternator (low amp alt)?
Do you have a bad Alternator?
Do you have a bad voltage regulator?
From the sound of it you have a lot of electric components, so get a jump start when you leave. Have you alt checked and go from there.

My alternator is less than 1 year old and it's 140 Amps.
I still have the old alternator but i see no need to replace the new one (unless it's bad).

Should I just get a new battery? The truck did sit for a few months before i received it.

Or should I just hook up jumper cables and let it charge from another car for a little while?

you should check all of the electrical connections for corrosion, especially the grounds.

last problem i had similar to that was the + batt cable on the starter relay being loose.
