Went to a guys private yard the other day with my son, he is trying to trade an old Mopar to this guy for a 54 Ch**y 5 window and some cash. They are close on price. While looking thru his yard (mostly tri 5 ch**y stuff)

I spotted a 63 Comet Conv. basically gone but had bucket seats and a console. It didn't dawn on me while we were there but are they not the same basic frame as the seats used in the Ranger?

Not sure on the seats (but should be similar) but be sure to grab the console.

I would say it's basically a version of the Falcon so it would most likely use the same seats. Did they look right?

From 1960 to 1965, the Comet was based on the Ford Falcon platform. For 1962 and 1963, the Comet shared a considerable number of body and mechanical parts with the short-lived Mercury Meteor intermediate.

If you want period correct looking buckets & console in you Slick they are most assuredly close enough. I'd be all over them if it were me, if you don't want them get them anyway - somebody here will want them.

The bucket seats and console from the 63 Comet would be correct for a 64 Ranger. Just reskin the seats and you would be in business

I will tell my son to work them into the deal. Dusty you mentioned the Meteor Back in 1980 when my son was only one and my daughter was still "on the way" I lucked into a 1963 Meteor for $200 drove it home and cleaned it up. Sweet little car 2dr hardtop 221 V8 auto, power steering and brakes and factory air. Would have liked to keep it but had been married just over a year with mouths to feed sold it for $400. Doubled my money but damn what that car would be worth now!

Seems that interior colors are year specific according to literature. 65 colors are biege, red and black, 66 colors are red and parchment.

Another interesting observation is that the center console does not automatically come with the F100 and F 250 Ranger package, the console is an additional option to the Ranger package.

The console option for 65 was 34.80. The option for 66 was 51. 50.
