how to get to SS2010

Post by jammck66 »

so I mapquest'd ss2010, and soon realized that i made a huge mistake.. i thought it was IDAHO, which isn't really all THAT far away. its still a drive thats for sure, so then i figure out its IOWA~~ LMAO so I did a fuel calculator on it and assuming i avg. approx. 12MPG with my tow rig, it would be 388 bucks one way for fuel. and about 1700miles.
WOW!!! how are others, who are across the other side of the country getting there with their slicks??? I would tow until I got to about 100 miles away and then drive in.

Just a rough guess on my part, but also about 1700 miles and will be driving my Uni But I'm old so will be spreading it out to about 4 days. After SS, I plan to go on up to N. D. again like I did last SS, then back down here to Az.

James,
If your planning on the trip to SS in Iowa, we are planning to hook up and travel together. So far for the northern contingent that are going is Brian(Ice), Mark(Hoof), Johnny Canuck and myself. Hopefully you, Dion and Jim can join us to have a real convoy down. :steering: :steering: :steering: :steering: I know we may also pick up some others south of the border, I think it would be fun to travel together.

LOL, yea I figure it might be just a LITTLE thirsty.. my 428 might not be any better! we should rent a huge car hauler, we could stock it with supplies and tools for the rest of the convoy. lol it might be like the cannonball run.

No reason for me not to go...I just need to point my truck west, get 'er up to speed, and if something goes awry, I can coast the rest of the way. :)
