Slick 60's

Has anyone got any experience with the DJM dream beams?Any alignment problems. I will be driving this truck 80 miles daily.

I see no one has responded to your question. I know there are threads on here about the Dream Beams, if you want to look back. I think the feedback on the Dream Beams were positive, but I wouldn't swear to it.

Maybe change your thread title to Dream Beams and it will get some attention from the Twin I guys on here.

this the link to me cutting my coils but several answers had dream beams.

I have a set on my old 67 and they'll be on the new 67 soon. I like them, but for what they cost new I would clip it instead.

I agree with fire truck. I had a set on my 66 and was happy with them no alignment issues but for the cost and work you can install a Dakota or other IFS and get a better ride with more options on ride height

Thanks guys for your time and info. I may clip it,I'm looking at all options. I bought this truck with a 400 engine & c6 trans.The 400 sounds great,but is a real pooch. But after reading some info here on helping it perform,i may keep it.I do enjoy this truck,even if it is a pooch.

The 03 up Crown Vic front suspension sounds like the best to me if you are set on ditching the twin I beams.

I had the DJM's on my 65 and I loved them! I upgraded to disc at the same time and for the money and a bolt on setup... you can't beat it. The I beams are HEAVY but if you're after a bolt on setup you can't go wrong. With the beams and low profile rims/tires I got about a 5 inch drop.

Do you want bolt on or weld in? decide that and go from there

And the 400 can be a great engine with a few upgrade parts. And a torque monster!

I bought the DJM beams for my truck as well. Im doing the disk brake swap also. Havnt installed them yet, should be in the next few months. They look strong and straight so I dont think I will have any issues with them. A great choice for a bolt on.

You are still going to have that old steering box that makes you have to herd the truck down the road.

Crown Vic costs about same as a pair of DJMs and you get rack & pinion plus disc brakes, plus it will go straight down the road.

I bought dream beams and sold them. Am going Crown Vic route. Running later model deep backspacing wheels to keep them under the fenders...

Thanks again gentlemen for your time and input.I really want to run a more classic style wheel so I may go dream beam.And,you are absolutely right about handling.It drives like a farm wagon,even with a rebuilt power steering box.These 2 lane Missouri roads make you pay close attention.The more I drive it tho,it seems to become less a chore.Park it for a while and it has a rude way of reminding you how much the newer vehicles have improved.The adjustment period must not take too long,I haven't had to give a sobriety test ....YET

Where are you in Mo...have quite a few members spread out all over the state. I'm in the Cape/Sikeston area myself.

Keep us posted on how it turns out. If you add the beams and a sway bar it should handle pretty well.

Nobody sells them with kingpins included anymore. They are considered a separate item. This kit does include the tie rod adapters though.

I actually have the Chassis Tech beams and tie rod adapters on my '66 and so far so good. I commute a little over 60-miles a day in my slick and they have provided 10,000 trouble free miles so far...
