Slick pics that JC wanted to see. (beware dialup folks)

Post by Slick Fan »

I thought I'd just start a thread, instead of further hijacking that other one. :D
These pics are from an Ebay ad last spring/summer. The seller's selling line was something like "If Eleanor (the 'Stang) was a truck, this would be it"...hence, the paint color & Halibrands, I guess. :D
I think the guy did a really nice job on it! :thumright:

There is no doubt that that is, or if not the nicest slick I have ever seen it is close to the nicest or tied.

From the other thread;
Johnny Canuck wrote:Sure would like to se some more pics of the grey one
the brownish one is OK too, nice and straight, just not quite as attractive with the chromie wheels and the color
I agree, the brown one isn't as appealing because of the color, but look how CLEAN it is! If it was red, blue, or black, it would be killer.

I do agree on the wheels too, they could definitely be improved on.

That Pepper Grey truck really makes my mouth water. If I ever had enough cash just to go out and buy a truck, that one would be IT,

How much did it go for on U-PAy?

The other one is a beauty too, just the whhels and the color really kill it for me.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

I don't remember. I should start keeping track of the final price, when I save pics. :D

The brown one had at least two go-rounds (probably because of color & rims), with a fairly high BIN price...something close to 20K, if I recall.

only thing i really dont like about the grey one is the missing badges and the missing knobs on the dash.also i like the wheels on the brown one better.both are very nice, but my choice would be the brown.

Here's a few other nice ones I've saved, mostly from the 'Gouge.
Stop me if you've seen these already. :P

I've also got extras of most of these too, if you want more.

This one was advertised as a '66, it's got a nice interior.

Image

The inside isn't as nice as the outside on this one (I love black on red).

The only 2 I've got of this one...

I like the color combo on this one. :thumright:

Obviously it's not garaged, going by the faded seat. :P
ImageImage

Sorry, massive pic. I'll only post one. :)

Image

I think this one's some other color nowdays, or it's alter-ego is running around out there.

Image
Image

I think this is the one that went about 8 rounds on eGouge, the seller wanted a lot for it.

Image
Image

The only 2 I've got of this one, the seller never did have many pics up. It went about 4 rounds, that I know of.

I hope I don't seize up anybody's confuzer with all these pics!

I came this > < close to getting this one. It was in Nevada & went for something like $1200. An original 4x4 shorty.
My financial timing was just off. :cussing:

It got flipped on eGouge about a month later for somewhere near 4K, if I recall...GRRR

Here's another one that slipped through my fingers, because of lack of fundage.
At least I didn't notice that it flipped the following month, so that's nice.

This one said it had a 428 in it...don't they all?

At least it's got the sticker.

Nice looking project.

So is this one.

Did anyone catch this one on Ebay last month?
The rims...well, I'd pass. :P

Thanks for sharing those. It is interesting how the smallest detail can affect an opinion on a slick. Truck may be perfect except for... But most of those are very nice and look like a lot of work went into them.

That white '66 with the aluminum slots....how long ago did you snag those pictures? I swear that's a truck I bid on back when I was shopping. I think it was in Georgia? It was the second round for it...the prior winning bidder emailed me and told me what the underside really looked like. Luckily, I got outbid soon after.

I think I found that sometime in '03. I loaded it on my pic host site 10/04, but I had it on my confuzer for quite a while before that.
So it was a good 20 footer truck?

Kid2, what's black gold? :hm:

Black gold is a truck that had every bolt on dodad you could find on it, it looked like a JC Whitney wharehouse threw up on it. It had a 428 and auto and the body was nice but everything that was hanging on the truck was a rral shame.......kid

Thanks for the pics slick fan! Pepper grey metallic does look good on a slick, I painted my 66 Ranger that color last winter. That guy did a real nice job. Makes me want to hurry up and finish. The pics on my album, are in poor light. There are actually about 7 colors that make up the paint code!!!!

Haha I saw that last white and red one with the horrible wheels on Ebay. Would be a nice truck with different wheels and interior. The red one with tan interior and AR wheels is nice. Would be even better if it was in another color though too many red vehicles. Something like a two tone metallic blue and silver or a dark green like the first one would be sweet. I like the wheels and stance on that one. Any idea how he got it that low?

Ahh, ok. That sounds like a few vehicles I've seen before, where too many ideas have been tried out on the same truck.

I think it was dropped I-beams & the rear axle over the springs. That last one with the ugly wagon wheels was set up that way, here's a nice low shot of the I-beams.
