Saw a Legend last night.....

Willie Nelson.
My wife insisted we go even though she has seen him half a dozen times and has all his albums.

High light of the show for me was the opening act..it was his son Lukas Nelson. If you like hard rockin' blues check this kid out.

Living in a small town where a lot of these musicians live and also being close to Nashville you hear a lot of first hand info on them. One guy I know here use to be a main mixer guy for a studio. He met all kinds and got to work with Willie Nelson. He said he was down to earth fellow and like your best friend. Fame did not go to his head. He said Willie Nelson came in one day to record a song. He came in,introduced himself and began to chit chat with this guy about how things were going for my buddy. He asked the guy if he mind if he "smoked a J and if he wanted one" .My buddy said we are here for you do whatever you feel like. He was a really nice guy and talked to him for a few minutes until it kicked it for him. The guy I know was wanting to get it started but did not let him know. Apparently you have to do it in many takes and a song can take many hours if not days to record to get it perfect. Willie got to feeling good and said "well I guess we can start now. So they started it and it was perfect the first take. They did not have to do any more. I don't remember which one it was but it was one of his biggest songs. He said Willie was one of the best and fastest people he recorded for. He said most of the time he would come in,smoke then record on one or two times. He was one of his favorite musicians to deal with.

I always sit at "Willie's table" when I go to Texas Roadhouse. Every one has one in a corner it's the only table that has anything on it, pictures of Willie....
So good lookin' that I've attracted an international stalker.

Rest in Peace Bumpstick....I miss ya man.
