Altoona Days festivities

Just found out today that the weekend of SlickStock on the 28th of Aug will be Altoona Days. There will be all kinds of stuff going on in Altoona Iowa that weekend. There might be a car show that we can invade and I will find out more as we go along. I just joined the Chanber of Commerce and will be getting more info later.They will promote SlickStock if we want them to along with the other things that will be going on. if you are going to Attend SlickStock you better be making reservations soon as I was told Today alot of rooms will be used for that weekend in the local Hotels. We have our blocks of rooms at the Host hotel and the overflow hotel but if we get to where we might be needing more I would like to know so I can get it taken care of. Hope to be seeing as many as possible in Aug...........Kid

guess I waited to long. Just called and the block is full and no rooms for friday night at the host hotel.

I will call them tomorrow morning and see if there are any left besides our blocked rooms. We do have rooms at another hotel about a mile away. Have you called them

got a room at the holiday inn. Now I just got to work on my truck at a faster pace than the clock.

Post up what you can as soon as you can. Will help to convince all the "other Halfs" that there may be something to do besides jabber and gawk at our "pride and joy'.

Ok here goes. There will be a Pancake Breakfast in the morning and there will be the car show, Beer tent, food vendors, Kids air bouncing slides and stuff,mud volleyball ( we can enter a team if we want ), Softball ( I think they are only going to have 8 teams ), going to be several bands playing all Day,did I say beer tent, and then they are talking about shooting fire works off from the casino, Just across the street from the Host hotel so we will have perfect seats to see them. Let me know if you guys are interested..........Kid

Hello all , it's funny , we'll trip in the US this summer , between Chicago and salt lake city , we'll be near from Altoona ( we'll take the road between kansas city and Sioux falls and just pass near Omaha ) , but in the begining of august :oops:

Roc, when you do come through let us know. Darrell, Wes & Matt live fairly close to Altoona. I live in Bellevue which is about 6 inches south of Omaha. Even if you won't be here for Slick Stock at least you can get to meet a few of us.
