i know theres a few 4x4 owners who have done conversions with slick cabs and later frames but i am trying to get an idea how many of the factory ones might be out there.

I have a factory 4x4 vin F26DE664925 although it has been changed by me to disc brakes in front and front fenders are F100's and the bed is a 64 it has a 390 under the hood and inner fenders from a F100 the cab is a 63 not a 64. I don't know about the one on Ebay has a vin for a F350 F35YR Did Ford do that? I know some strange things have happened

I have a 65 f100 4x4 that I will be starting to "undo" 3 PO's customizing this summer. Currently has no bed but a cab, front clip and hood that is rust free. Since it has the short wheel base I am not going to be able to use the newer style bed, but he (Washburn is his name) will shine one day soon.

My buddy Ger, who I can't get to join up here has an orig. '64 F-100 4x4 with a 223.
PO also means p!$$ed off, which is generally what the PO's do to us slick owners. The dingle berry kid who had my uni can have his stupid Woofer boxes right where the sun don't shine, along with the chain-saw hole in my dash and his $13.95 K-mart after market speedo

It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

Mine is mostly stock. 292 was rebuilt about 70K mile ago. Wheels and tires changed by PO. The dash never had a radio and PO mounted one under the dash that I have since relocated to the glove box. I have only have it a month and have a goal to get all fixed up and to a daily driver by 3 years. I am not sure about it's gearing. I hardly ever use first since it is so low. The truck has very little bad rust, L side cab corner is the worst. All other is just surface or seam rust.
How do you guys clean out the seam rust and do a repair where this wont occur again?

Hey JC, Are you going to repair the dash? I have a similar problem and I don't want to gut the cab (Upholstery, wiring etc) in order to weld a patch. I'd do it but all this was mostly finished when I bought the truck. Just curious how you were going to fix yours. My son says just take a piece of sheet metal big enough to cover, cut the proper holes for the factory radio, paint to match. We never decided on how to attach.

I have a non-functioning swap-meet stereo sitting in the hole to cover it up right now.The similar hole, in my other truck, was repaired by welding in sheetmetal from the back and filling it like you would repair a hole in the body.

My -62 is factory 4X4, vin nr. F26JE280431.
Plan is to keep it as original as possible. For now the truck is stored away, but I am going to build a new garage in my back yard this summer, and move the truck in there.
Hopefully I am back on the track with the restauration next winter!
Picture of the project is coming soon in my album!
