1966 F100! Want to put on Late model chassis!!

Hey guys!
Just found your site after hours of browsing the web for much neede info on chassis dimensions..
Well I was wondering if I might pic your brains a bit?
I have a 1966 f100 lwb, 2wd and I am wondering!
What is the latest model chassis I can drop this on, with the least amount of trouble?
I thank you for your help.
I'll attempt to get some pics on here. But from what i've been reading it's not just cut and paste.

1979 would be newest, reasonably easy swap.
With enough tools, wire, creativity (and maybe a little insanity for good measure) you probably get one onto a 2010 Harley F 150 - would be no where near easy though - just sayin.

For pics it's best to load into photobucket. Then highlight the bottom code next press the control button & the letter c at the same time. go to your posting in Slick 60's and press control & the letter v at the same time, it will now show in your post.

Wheel base is the issue. If you're up to cutting and shortening the frame, you can make several Ford platforms work.
A couple of the guys have even tried a Crown Vic chassis.
The only modern truck unit I know of that will fit with "minor" modifications is the Dodge Dakota.
For the twin I-beam trucks, short of the frame bash, you're pretty much limited to dropped beams disk brakes and power steering out of the trucks up thru 1978.
Us straight axle guys have more options... (its a private joke on this forum).

Welcome from West Virginia... I think any of the frames from 1967 up to 1979 will work. Mine is going on a '76 F-250 Highboy chassis.... fits pretty good too...

The truck in question is a long wheelbase though, so the Crown Vic full chassis swap (not to be confused with the late-model Crown Vic front clip) would require shortening the bed or lengthening the frame in this case. Or just replacing the long bed with a short, of course.
There are many options available, some more popular than others. Are you looking for a 4x4 chassis or do you want it lowered? Or do you just want disc brakes and power steering at stock ride height?

Nice to find people as crazy about these trucks as me.
Well I'm wanting to lower it a little. Nothing extreme, just enough to get the tires tucked in the quarters. I installed power steering when I was 19 yrs old (38 now) But yes! I will be wanting the disc brakes and stay with the long bed.

After spending a few hours investigating my options

for lowering my
"Twin I Beam"
I get it!!
Ok........So who has the best deal in town for the drop I beams??
The lowest I have found is $500.00
Gotta be a better deal out there?

on the later model chassis you have to watch the gap between tha cab and bed as it tends to be about 2 inches too wide.
the cc does work well as i have 2 of these 1 uni and 1 2 piece
