Shortbeds worth

What do you think a short bed is worth? I have a guy who's interested in my bed, my floor is fairly solid but is rusted along the front edge of course. Sides are straight no dings. I'm gonna go in a different direction. I'm thinking to finish my cab, and put it on my 78' 350 dually dump bed frame. Everything seems to be the same. Hey people put our sheetmetal on 73-79 frames all the time, why not a 350? The cab is done except for paint. I have all the parts, pieces and a new motivation to do this. I think after paint, it wouldn't be more than a couple of weekends to just swap the cab. Just don't know if I would need the bigger front fenders or not. What do you think?

How tall are the tires on the front of the 350 ? You should be able to put tires 31 inches tall without any problems. Any taller would need to be checked for clearance when turning.

I kinda like the red, that way I can have a matching set.

Charlie, My '62 f250 has 235/85- 16s and seems to clear the "small fenders" fine.. I wonder if the track width is a bit wider on your '78, that may make a difference..

If you have the title I would think the complete set would have some value to a guy who wanted to do a shortbed coversion (Maybe Dwight  ). Considering the work involved choping a longbed I bet you could bring $500 for a bed frame and title..

A decent bed not needing major repair I'd guess $250 plus...
