The work continues.

Image
The bottom of the cab is now primed and ready for paint.

Image
The doors on this truck were about as rust free as any I have seen.

Image
Even without any paint inside the hinge area it is still bright metal after 45 years.

Image
Finally we have got some paint laid on the truck.

Image
We still have the hood and both doors to get the white on. It looks like it will be next week before we can get any more paint on because it is supposed to be raining here for the next three or four days.

It is raining cats and dogs here today but the rain held off yesterday and I did get the white painted on the two doors. Only white left to paint is the hood. I have one place on the bottom left corner of the dash that will have to be redone. When I was pushing the cab into the paint booth I must have grabbed it under the corner of the dash with my dirty hand.

Man Chel, This truck is going to be better than it was new. You are really paying attention to detail. I hope to get to see it up close someday. Are you going with the Ranger package for interior detail?

That pic with the cab and bed on the dollies looks like a chopped project in progress.
Keep up the quality work and keep the pics coming. Hope the rain holds off for you.
Looking real good.

This is looking amazing, Michelle. I really admire your talent and good judgment regarding your restoration. So glad you decided to keep it red, too! :)

I thought it time to make another progress report on the Ranger.

Image
Check out the length of the radiator. The core support is from a 66 model so I bought a radiator for a 79 3/4 ton with a 460, it is the Ford super cooler or as some call it the desert cooler.

Image
I had this fan shroud and six blade fan from a truck I use to have with the same radiator. It fits perfectly. Hopefully this will eliminate any cooling problems.

Image
The white on the bottom of the hood is complete and what little red on the top is done.

The paint on the cab and doors are complete. I am putting the cab on the chassis tomorrow (Monday)

A land mark day. The cab is back on the chassis. Now if I can get parts I will have it back on the road with in a month. It seems everything is on back order.
