This is most likely how StrongerRatFink66 and Max will be going from Houston. That's Interstate driving anyway.

Houston - Dallas (I45) - Oklahoma City (I35) - Wichita (I35) - Topeka (I335) - Kansas City (I70) - Des Moines (I35) - Altoona.

Approximately 1,000mi / 15+ Hrs., 5 States.

Kenny, Chris, we'll get back wich you all on this as it gets closer. We're figuring on possibly spending the night someplace depending on what time we leave and all that.

We know but it all has to do with Mike getting off of work and immediately hitting the road kind of thing. We're still figuring things out.

It definitely helps the fact that we all have the trip to KC under our belts for reference! I remember you and I texting each other along the way and the anticipation growing the closer we got. Good times!

I agree Kenny driving straight thru?
I will need a break, what kind of break and how long I don't know,
but I drove all the way in 15 hours last time and I was beat bad, and no sooner did we pull into the parking lot we got hammered some more!
now as soon as I know Max can handle the "Big honk'n Deisel and trailer" rig, I will be more than ready to say Max, it's your turn for a while!
Probably will take it myself thru the cities and let him run the long hauls,
no not driving the slick, yes she will be a safe and clean "Trailer Queen" again!
Any body know where you can get that protective film they put all over Rolls before they ship them to the dealer? Really!
trying to keep the bugs, rocks and posible leaking windshield protected

now Max and I will put our heads together on our departure time and we'll get back to you, but it must be a stratigic departure, sheak out between traffic over loads

Here's an alternate suggestion for you. MY preference anyway, google says it takes an hour longer but I don't see how. Seems way out of the way to go thru OKC. IMHO.
But the best part is you could have your brake here in Tulsa, some refreshing beverages of your choice, and we could talk slicks. I've considered going but don't know if I can work it in with a trip to the Y block shootout in Columbus, ohio.

We're not set on going through OKC, we just stayed on the Interstates last time. Didn't want to get hung up on any highways that slowed through towns or anything since we're hauling the slick behind us and it's a long haul. If that's good open road, then could look into that.

Big Honk'n Deisel, trailer and slick needs interstate,
no senic trips thru the back roads this time,
and sorry no pick up's or deliveries unless it's small and you will pick it up at my house, for this will be a time share trim!
share my time off work with slickstock, damn shame I'm not rich!

I would advise against pulling a car/truck trailer up US75/US69 out of Dallas and up through Oklahoma. With the road being in terrible shape, the local law enforcement and the small town traffic its just not worth the headache. I run that way at least once a month if not more and it takes a toll on your mind, body, and equipment. Just a truckers opinion.

That alternate trip posted is a poor road and once you get out of texas runs through the center of several towns (35mph). After you get through McAlester OK it gets better, but the all interstate route is better for pulling a truck.
All my tools are hammers except screwdrivers, those are chisels.
