"Green Dot" Cruise-O-Matic in Savannah

Post by banjopicker66 »

Saw this on Savannah's Craig's list, for anyone interested. Looks to have an FE bellhousing. This is what came in our Slicks originally, but I do not know if this configuration out of a Galaxie is identical to what the Slicks had.

I've got one too. Came with my '66 Slick. It was the original one and it was replaced with another.

I've been trying to find a home for it. Needs a rebuild. Its future isn't looking good.

I was told it's a medium case cast iron cruise-o-matic.

Oh, it's in Southern California!

Looks similar but is not the same. The Galaxie used a FX Cruisomatic while slicks used an MX Cruisomatic. They are not interchangeable. Also the linkages and stuff are all different. Besides not fitting a Slick though, this is a for sale item so shouldn't you have listed it in the classifieds section? Hawkrod

Hey Tom, good info about the COM, I didn't know that. It isn't mine, but I wanted to let everyone know.

Fordman has an MX for sale in the For Sale section. I recommend that anyone who runs one of these to snatch up a spare if they can. Mine dropped a band with no warning and it's 300 buck per band to get them relined....
So good lookin' that I've attracted an international stalker.

Rest in Peace Bumpstick....I miss ya man.
