Post by dave r »

Do any of you DFW Guys know where I can get my '62 inspected with out them being super picky? It's in pretty good shape and every thing works, but if they go over it w/a fine tooth comb I'm sure they could find something wrong w/ it.Thanks

it's a saftey inspection only. p-brake, wippers and lights... I suggest go to those older shops that don't have then young kids right out of cert class. Not to mention most of the younger ones don't know how to start or drive out trucks. at least they always get confused by mine.

I took mine to a regular shop with kids. They had to have the older one drive my truck but it requires very little to pass.

My Mustang has a GT 40 start button in the center of the dash. Every time I take it to the car wash, tire shop or any other place where someone has to start my car it is always fun to watch them fumble around for for a few minutes trying to figure out how to get it started. I have to show some how to get it started but most soon figure it out on their own.

I would check carefully to make sure TX requires an inspection sticker on your slick. In Louisiana, no inspection sticker is required for any vehicle over 40 years old.

I live in Friendswood.

They check my lights, horn and wipers.

Spin around the station and put a sticker on it.

Hey welcome! I didn't realize we had another member in Monroe. I'll send you a PM and introduce myself.

Actually the over 40 years rule applies to vehicles 40 years old and older which are registered as ANTIQUES. A regular license plate requires an inspection. I have YOM plates on all three of my running Slicks which exempts them from inspection.
