One of the downfalls of a uni is when the front of the bed rust you get wet feet. This is the ultimate redneck fix. GE silicone.

I cant believe I admitted to this fix.

Yep. That silicone really holds the crumbs together.

Boy, you Texan's sure are sophisticated with that new-fanged "silicone". In Louisiana we stick with good old duct tape. Can't go wrong with that and you can even color coordinate it now

I have only seen a few episodes of the Red Green show, but by far the best line is " If you can't fix it, duct it"!

I agree with Ice though, I believe using silicone will make the rust worse.

Hate to pile on the band wagon on the silicone but the boys are right.
All silicone is acid base ( vinager smell) it will speed up rusting
Cas's PO used it to stop water leak on drip rail on roof line everywhere there was silicone the rust was much worse and up to same spots that the Silicone was on

that is while it is abit more pricey but seam sealer is the better option along with being paintable.

I actually cleaned and primed the inside before the silicone. Im trying to get it driveable for now. Bodywork is down the road but this will slow down the rust in the floor. The bed drained into the cab before the quick fix.

Beryls PO put enough silicone in her to increase Dolly Parton 2 cup sizes!
