That approximately 12" long cable that runs from the spring post at the top to the self adjuster lever thingy toward the bottom.
Napa doesn't have a listing for '61 but they do have one for a '64. Are they the same? For that matter, will the self adjuster kit be the same between the two?

early star adjusters were manual, the teeth are bigger, so in order to change to self adjusters you need all the pieces.
the cables and pieces from later years will fit and work.

Oh, so they weren't originally installed on my truck? Then they were installed before I bought it. That explains why I'm having such a hard time finding it.

Ice, et al.
The only part that they don't reproduce is the "spreader" with the square spring on either end, just under the wheel cylinder. Better save that one.
They're getting hard to find.

When I installed the disks on the front of my 62, I also got all the hardware for the later model and installed the self-adjuster setup on it. You will have to make a new slot in the backing plate on one side so you will be able to back it off if you ever need to as the star wheel lines up with the slot on one side but not the other.

Thanks. Now I can install a kit I bought several years ago, that did not include instructions.
