Differences in the west coast style mirrors

Post by 66camperspecial »

My 66 came with the painted mirrors and I got some pics of some stainless mirrors and there is enough differences I cant use them,my truck is in final primer and I dont feel like welding and redrilling 8 holes in the doors,I am bummed as I would rather have the stainless mirrors but I dont want to do any more body work. The differences are where the mirror bolts on at the bottom and on the reinforcment arm where it bolts to the door,if I only thought to look into this before I got all the body work done so it looks like I am stuck with the original mirrors.

i'll be willing to bet there is a stainless set out there somewhere that would match your existing holes. got any pics? there were quite a few different styles of those mirrors.

I will get some pics and there are 6 holes per door for the mirrors I have,to install the stainless mirrors I got pics of I would have to fill and redrill 4 on each door.

Welding and drilling 8 new holes is not that much work is it?

It might not be much work but the doors are done and ready to paint.
