63 unibody build
63 unibody build
I will post all the pics for my "63 unibody custom cab", as I relocate them, since i've owned this truck for 30 years now.
I am in the process of updating the front end by installing an independent front suspension with power disk brakes.
(therefore removing the old straight axle with leaf springs)
Power steering is also in the mix which includes a new tilt steering column (the 83 mustang H.O. 5.0L has the power unit for which I have not hooked up because I was still with the original steering box)
I installed the 83 engine in 87, the engine had just under 40k, hooked up to a 3 speed / overdrive s-rod manual trans from a capri
The truck will be lowered 5 inches from its existing stance.
Next on the list is finishing the interior, headliner, door panels seat?.
Cheers

Pretty truck. Lowering the stance will make it even prettier. BTW from Louisiana. Suggest you also introduce yourself and your truck in the Truck Talk section. More folks will see you there.

Alan, I started checking out some of your pics... crafty gas filler on your yellow ride... I'll look at the rest later.
It's 6am here, getting ready to work on the garage, insulating and drywalling so that I can heat the garage over the coming winter. The temp is 45deg and will be decreasing... looking at below freezing temps soon.
I'm taking advantage that my 63uni is in the shop right now.

63 unibody
forgot to mention...
- when I purchased my baby, there was only surface rust with no perferations / holes; except for what you see in the pics , which is in the back end that was replaced with a donor truck.
- all the chrome was good but not perfect... maybe some day i'll get them re-chromed allong with the bumpers, grille, door handle/door plates
- this truck is a CUSTOM CAB edition, which includes original working voltage and oil pressure gauge, with custom cab door handle plates
- all emblems were removed and holes filled prior to paint... all that remains is the word Ford on the tailgate which is embossed and painted white. I like the clean look
