Slick 60's

I was at a local Junkyard getting parts for my Dad's 89 F150 and I saw a truck from the 30s (I assume). There was no way to identify it, and I know nothing about anything before the sixties. But I love the look of the split rear window. Can anyone identify the truck for me? In case I don't imbed it correctly, the photo is at:

That window makes it easy. Its an IHC (International). Hawkrod

I think a 37 ford had a split window and also a 52 international. My guess is a international due to the size and how it looks.

I would have voted Dodge, but IH may be right. Not pre-war, though.

I concur with Hawkrod and would add a 54-57 IHC 1/2 ton. The one piece curved windshield started in 54 I think.

International. My Grandpa used to have a Navy Blue one just like it.

Well ain't that a kick in the pants!! I'm driving a 64 F100 with an IHC drivetrain! 345 ihc v8, Chrysler 727 tranny (scout), and of course the Ford 9" rear. I"ve been looking for an IHC tow truck to haul my 64, maybe this'll prime the pump.

I hauled off a 52 Hi like this one, dad used to drive it. I think you will find that the hood opens from the side both right and left.

That "pickup" looks like it started its life as a car. There does not appear to be any original pickup parts on it. The front end is definitely Ford car and the bed is home made. The back window is likely from the same donor that gave its frontend to the project. A stock 37 Ford pickup looks like the ones below. Hawkrod

That's a Downs Manufacturing Kit Car w/ fiber composite body based on a 37 Ford Car
as Hawkrod says. I was looking at one at 2007 Daytona Spring Spectacular Show
just a couple weeks ago, here in Daytona. It's like a Huge AMT Plastic Model
with a custom Tube Frame & a GM drive train in it. It has Camaro Brakes, suspension
all that sort of fantasy stuff. It's a "ghost", or "phantom" vehicle. Wasn't as nice as
it looks in the pictures either.

i wouldn't have noticed before i read this post, but i walked into the bedroom and the old lady was watching "kaw" on sci-fi channel and one of those split window trucks was on there! (about 45 minutes into the movie) weird how that happens...
