8 lugs are better than 5 - F 250 disc brakes
8 lugs are better than 5 - F 250 disc brakes
So, i wanted disc brakes on my f250. autozone had one in stock!
Well, then i had to fab up some brackets
then i had some brackets made up out of 1/4 inch cold rolled steel!
with little tabs for spacing...
after i drilled and taped out some holes for the caliper pins i painted them red.
reinstall rotor and caliper!
install brake hose to the stock location.
and were almost done!
after some new hard lines and a new disc/drum master cyl I now have disc brakes on the front of my 63 f250 and i'm not afraid to drive it in traffic. I think it worked out Slick!.

Bill: Nice job. Very Slick! I would like to get a pattern from you. Will PM you with my info. This gives you the same bolt pattern as the 8-lug stock Ford wheels? I like the 8-lugs on my F250, but would like to have discs. Thanks

Well, that was a pretty SLICK brake swap :)
Has anyone tried something similar on a straight axle F350? I ask because I have had one "Expert" on another forum say it cannot be done.
But I suspect it may be more about finding the suitable donor parts....but it may also require going to a different bolt circle (wheel stud pattern), which would complicate the matter, as then you would be switching wheels, ans to avoid having a different pattern on the rear, you would then need to redrille the rear axles/drums as well.....
