New from Phoenix
I have been following your website for a while now and thought it is time to sign up. I have a 63 F100 w/ a 64 bed I put on it. This is the truck I learned to drive in high school and bought it back to do a major facelift on it. I grafted a Camaro subframe into it, powdercoated the frame, master cylinder under floor, gas tank in rear of truck and everything new. The cab got new floor pans, cab corners and smooth dash. It is getting Vintage Air, Dakota Digital Climate Control, Dakota Digital gauges, Power windows and power door locks. Paint will be 2004 Mustang Firered Metallic Clearcoat. Interior will be grey ultraleather with possibly suede inserts in seats.
I will try and link photos from photobucket for pics. This has photos of progress to date.

Hopefully it will be ready for me to paint this summer.

Wuh oh
the distributor done migrated to the back on the engine!
That seems to happen a lot in Phoenix.. is is a disease of the sand I hear.
Here is the remedy:*
-Beat your head on a solid brick wall for min. 3 hours
-Lay down on a bed of nails, while a fat lady walks on you for another 3 hours
-Call the ghostbusters and have you garage de-slimed
-Get a ford Racing catalogue, order engine of choice
-Attach dist-in back engine on chain to local yacht for use as an anchor
-Have an adult beverage
*Note: this cure not required for Y blocks. Skip directly to adult beverage.
Oh and welcome to the club! Nice truck!

Marty. Welcome to the family. Even a black sheep is welcome here.
But please, switch back to the good side and put a FoMoCo back where it belongs
Guess Garbz and El Pollako will be glad to see you too.

Hey, some of the Canuck white-shoe crowd are still down there, doing the snowbird thing. Watch it or I'll get them to drive 40 in a convoy down the freeway, on their way to Denny's early bird special

Nice truck! And good to have you!
I can't say I like everything but thats OK, as long as it works for you.
Now it is time to share with the class...
1) How do you get your gas tank out? Looks like you welded the top tab on with it in place??
2) HOW DID YOU DO THE POWER WINDOWS?? What motors did you use? I am going to the yard tomarrow and would like to know.
Again, good to have you.

Power Windows
For MadMaxetc
The gas tank does come out the bottom but it is very tight going in and out. The tank is in two pieces(front & rear) with a hose 2" fuel between the both pieces and a crossover vent at the top. It probly will be a little slow to fill but I wanted the extra fuel.
The P/W motors came out of a 2002 Saturn 4 door(fronts). They come with the regulators attached so if you can find them damaged you should buy them cheaper. The gear on this motor meshes up perfect with the large gear on the Ford regulator. Make sure that you lean the motor forward slightly or it hits the window track. You will need to weld one tab on top for the top bolt and notch the front of the regulator for clearance on the motor.
It will all make sense once you see it all going together.
TO ELpolacko are you the Industrial Chassis guy??

I'm not. Must be the heat out there doing weird things to your brains.
Nice craftsmanship. The power windows are real cool.
And welcome to the board, you may catch a bit off crap over the motor choice but you got thick skin right. I mean if I put a BBF in a 69 Camaro I would expect to catch a bunch of flack.
Man, that power window idea looks really good!
Have you done all your own body work on that? Looks like you're doing good.
Welcome aboard, I can't wait to see some paint on that baby!

Nice work Kevin!
Have you tried the windows? Do they work well? That is a great and frugal job.

I did the work
I have done everything myself except for the powdercoating and the fuel tanks(a friend made those for me). The power windows have not been installed yet but I have had power to them and they are real smooth operating. They should work perfect in the truck because the motor went in place of the window crank so all the geometry is still factory.
I have a neighbor that is a body man who is instructing me all the way through. Did you notice the A pillars welded and the rear seam above the rear window welded in? The bed is going to have all seams welded and the side of the bed will be radiused to match the radius on the cab.

That C____ motor would be like getting to have sex with Shania Twain to find out that she has a fungus under her toenails and snores afterwards. Despite the flaws, the overall package is totally awesome and beautiful.

I noticed the filled seam above the rear window, missed the A pillars. Looks great!
So you're going to fill in the seam & body line on the bed sides to match the body line contour on the cab & doors? I haven't seen that done before, sounds pretty cool. I bet it's gonna be a pain in the butt to get it all straight, though.
I like the Shania Twain comparison.

That is a funny description.
