Been a long time since I have posted on here. I have been lurking but lurking has finally got me motivated. Well, that and a tax refund! So here is what I have been up to the last week.

She use to look like this. Has since I was 13. I am turning 30. First truck. First car. First love. This is what got me into cars. So she deserves to be updated every now and then.

so here is where the work started. I took it all aprat and began finding stuff I had no idea was there. I do not have pix of it, but the typical stuff under it like cab mounts/braces, and floors were rusted as were part of the kick panels. So that all got replaced. So did the cowl.

Image

Image

found lots of arkansas ( not pickin but it is where she came from! ) repairs ro I repaired those again.

Image

Image

Image

Image

lots of holes inthe dash from over the years. Not now. All new electrical to include switches so new holes will be made

Image

tons of holes in the fire wall that were useless to me.

Image

lots of filler work. BTW NEVER use cab corner panels from LMC... they SUCK! YOu can really tell in this shot.

Image

Image

floors are replaced. These will be coated in bed liner to keep it from rusting again.

Image

Image

took care of the rear clearance as well. This will be getting 2-3 drop blocks soon.

Image

and in primer

Image

which brings us to today.

Image

this is only jambed right now with the dash and overhead panels painted. Once the truck is together it will all be painted at once.

thank you gentelmen. I appreciate it. I will have loads more updates weekly. Just got to remember to do it. Getting the time to is difficult sometimes. I own my own shop so I am able to make time between customer cars sometimes.

Unbelievable progress! , what are the plans for final colours?

the plan is green and white. Can't really describe the color so you will just have to wait and see I guess.

here is smoe more as of today. Got the harness I had already fabbed reinstalled. Some of the new switches are in. Got the battery cable ran. Ran some wires out back. Started on my brake lines. Lots of misc stuff as well.

Image

Image

you can see where I made the wire holders. I welded them in to support teh harness. Cleanest way I could think of.

Image

these will go under the fender to the front. Not even seen.

Image

these ones behind the engine and under it. Not visible either.

Image

here is the other side. To the rear, R/F and to the solenoid.

Awesome. I had planned something similar with my wires, but in the end I wanted to hear the engine run so rushed a couple things. Still minimized some of the under hood wiring by mounting the battery and selenoid to the frame under the bed. Still need to run some remote jumper cable and posts to inside the bed just in case I ever need a jump, lol.

You went totally opposite on this truck, gasser style to lowered. It's really looking good. I hid all my wires like you are doing. I like that clean look. I also put the heater hoses and a/c hoses under the inner fender aprons so you don't see them.

I am thinkin of doin that. But she will be my daily again so I want it simple and very cost effective. That may not fit that idea. We'll see. Thanks for the tip however.

Just got in a bunch of parts today. I got windshield and back glass gaskets, dash knobs, cab mount kit, cowl strip and a bunch of misc stuff. Should have more progress this weekend. I have another slick comin to the shop to fix. I think I have posted pix of it before though... oh well. More won't hurt right!?

I bought more parts and got a few new/old parts for it. I bought a 2 inch drop block kit and I recieved a tailgate that does not look like a 4 year old went crazy with a ball peen hammer! Got the tilgate supports and new hinges for it. I also pulled hinges off of a 66 that has the springs built into the hinge so it stops the door from flopping all over while it is open. Hope that makes sense. Also, I got a new motor for it. I had a 300 in it but it dropped a cylinder. Now I have one that is low mileage and seems OK. I need to tear into it and do some inspections. Replace some gaskets as well. I sold some tires/rims off of the 66 that i had this week for more money for the sheetmetal for the bed. Should be movin along soon. Sonn as the shop slows down a bit. Or rather weekends.
