Slick 60's

Hello Fellow Slick Fans!!

I'm James, a 1961 model Canadian who currently does not have a Slick, but who really wants one......but I have a Tubbed '79 Pacecar (351C/Toploader/39" wide 9") that I need to finish.....and then there is my '50 Thames 1/4 T delivery......ahhhh so many ideas.....so few $$
I have had a couple of dentsides, and wish I could turn back the clock and keep'em both!! (one was a '78 EXT SB Fleet, the other was a '78 LB Fleet, both had 351M/C6).
I have had a few motorcycles, and have made a few 1/4 mile passes

I spent my first ten or so years out of school in a bodyshop (missed having my journeymans certicicate while I was still 21 by SIX WEEKS:(, then my wrists started buggering up, and the doc told me to find another line of work....so I moved from the small town of Grande Prairie in Northern Alberta to the bright lights of Edmonton to go back to school in '92....and have been here ever since........

Any ways, that's the short version.....have already learned a thing or two in my exploration of the site, and perhaps might even have something to add from time to time!:)

Greg: Nah, I have seen it, but I haven't really gotten into the Mustang forums....I've had mine since '86, and seems like most of the Mustang forums are young pups with plenty of testosterone, and no common sense:)
As for the UNI....well, I think I prefer the reg Slicks....and would KILL for a crewcab:)
Plus, between metalshaping forums (www.metalmeet.com), www.canadianrodder.com, www.bangshift.com, a yahoo ANGLIA group, and a bunch of others....and now this site, it's a full time job just trying to keep up on reading new posts (and as for the H.A.M.B., I don't even TRY to keep up....I pop in once in a blue moon, and have a quick look, because that site is so massive it would be 24/7 just by itself to even scratch the surface).

Greg: There is a local forum, www.performance-shop.com and it seems that the newest trend is putting chevy LS motors into foxbody cars (oh yah, forgot to mention all the Zephyrs I've had, 3 Z-7 Coupes and a SW:)....there is one local guy with a 2 door Zephyr with a 6.0L TT, and he is running eights on a 10.5 tire!! ....and drives it home!!
I have a lot of respect for the potential of the LS motors....but I couldn't put one in any of my fords....in my biased opinion that's an abomination

Welcome James, I am out in Hinton but am originally from east of Edmonton. Ever out this way, look me up. This is a fun place, you should have no problem fitting in. Let me know what you want for a slick, there are a few of us that keep tabs on every one that comes for sale in western Canada. Plus a few that are hidden

mark: If I had my way, it would be a crew cab......but they are few & far between......and being (mostly) coachbuilt, even more rust prone than most slicks....
I have been watching around these parts, and there are a few scattered around.....the trick is going to be finding something and at the same time having $$ available:)

Cooter: The only slick I recall seeing regularly at Petrocan (or white oaks) is a pretty clean lil Red stepside. Is that yours?

Welcome to the site, hope you find what you are looking for, I found a 66 crew down here and the whole floor needs to be replaced. I was just up your way last weekend and met up with James (3onthetree66), picking up my CV crossmember he picked up from Cooter.

I also have seen a couple short uni's in southern Alberta for sale, not sure what shape they are in. My brother also has a couple he may be interested in selling, a 65 Merc and 66 Ford.

I've got a few pictures, have stopped by to enquire about if it is for sale and the price, but have never been able to find anyone home. Will be trying ot stop by again this spring.






He does have some parts for replacing the floor and pillars but there is lots of work there.
