Some more done today. Going with a black Satin tone on the dash just to see how it looks. Not to bad I guess. I messed up and it led to this color.

More progress. Gage cluster is not wired in. I got my wiring diagram from Faxonautolit.com via Jim Osborns today. Ill try to get the motor put together and installed this weekend. With the wiring diagram I should be able to get all the wiring where it belongs in a few nights.

More to do. Transfer case seems to be stuck in 4 low. Break job. Will it move under its own power before the snow flies. Oh a few of the completed engine bay. Im in kind of a rush as the weather closes in so I didnt bother with the firewall this time. Just some slight clean up.

Yup took a weeks vacation to wail away on it. Got to make a trip to pull and save this am to get some junior west coaster mirrors off a bump there and maybe the seat a nice crush velvet with little wear. Ignition switch out of a 64 that is there. If anyone is in need of a long wrong for a fridge there is a nice one there with little other than surface rust for only $105. Sgettin I have been preetty busy trying to get it running I didnt even think about de gunking the shift point on the tfc Ill give that a try thanks.

You called it. I took the side cover off of the case after draining about a cup of water out of it. I wanted to see what damage had been done rust wise. Turns out very little rust inside but as you said the shift bars were gunked up and had some condensation rust going on. Rustbuster in copoius amounts and lube and one more problem eliminated. Thanks for the heads up.

I just went back to the first page of the thread and took another look at what you brought home. What a difference, you're hard work is paying off. Love those 4x4's.

Thanks I dont know alot about the trucks prior history. I cant say when the last time it was roadworthy but I think my son and I are getting it close. The funny thing is everytime I work on it I find a pocket of grease dirt that I managed to miss somehow. The truck has to be about 30 to 40 lbs lighter after all the packed in grease and dirt we have cleaned off of it.
