I bought 2 more metal trucks off ebay for a few bucks, hubcaps were missing on one but the other had a grill. anyway I got bored tonight and went to work on lowering one of them. front is dropped about 1/2" (could maybe go another 1/4 inch before i hit the fender on the inside. the rear is only down about 1/4 inch, so it has a large rake to it, but I can notch the metal frame to bring the back down some too before i hit the bed, but if i leave it off I can get it level with the front.

rake or no rake? bed or no bed?
anyway, its fun, then I can secure the axles and paint it, the red one is regular height.

the bed is getting a coat of plastic primer so the paint will hold to something. I broke off a couple of the tabs on the bed that snap it to the frame, so now it will an easy dump bed.

I didn't make it, and Im not sure the guy who did would care since he gave them to UncleSkip. This was back in 2001-2003 so Id say it was ok?? I guess you could talk to Skip too, but if it was me, I would just do it.

Thanks, Gregg, see if I get anymore feedback, if it were mine I'd be ok if someone used it , but ya' know how some can get- so I'll hang this out for a bit.

You know, at first I was just thinking..it looks like they slightly modified mold for a late 50's pickup, and used the WRONG box to fake it being the newer model truck..

Then it dawned on me... was it some sort of sick joke they WRONG BOXED us again.. by making it out of plastic, they not only got the body wrong, but the metallurgy as well ! hahhahahahahha

We better adopt Rodney Dangerfield as an honorary member ! hahahah

the nylint cabs are better shaped but they still have the wrong box. I really want to carve out a realistic slick
