A couple of weeks ago some TURDHEAD hit my uni and nearly ripped the bumper off.The Ins.adjuster said they would streighten the bumper and re chrome it 8) I thought I would do some of the prep work on it.I stripped the paint off of a painted bumper I have and started polishing out scratches, and grinder marks, ect.I am going to weld the bolts to the bumper for a custom look.I planned having it really "slick"(no pun intended)before I take it to the chrome shop.any advice,or am I on the right track ?

Yes you are.
Just remember, chrome is like paint.
The better the foundation the better the results.
