when it comes to venison for food , nothing beats a grain fed deer
i prefer T-bone or a pork-chop myself
but a deer that eats pine-cones.... no.gif

My best Bro and his wife have each scored a buck already this year, one with each mini-van. His wife still gets sick when she looks at the vans. Tom :steering:  oops.gif :cussing:

A friend & former co-worker called me on the weekend, and asked if I could come out & help him with some stuff he is trying to get done (before the snow starts falling) on the house he is building. Well, we worked hard all morning Sunday, then he tells me to jump in the truck with his dad and go to their place, as lunch is ready:)
So, we get over there, get all washed up, and his mom has two roasts prepared ( one deer, one pork) a HUGE serving bowl full of potatoes floating in gravy, a bowl of carrots, another of cauliflower, and salad......I had to take it easy, otherwise I would have been asleep an hour later, but that roast deer was awesome!!
...then, just when you think it's all done, Serges mom brings out a huge plate of fresh baked brownies!!:):)
I worked hard all day, but I'm still not sure I worked hard enough to deserve a spread like that!!

I'm with you Pat. All of the deer that I get are grain fed and super healthy, just ask the farmer where I hunt. BIG taste difference depending on where they live.

My neighbor got a 163" 10 pt. whitetail 2 nights ago with a bow. A real monster.I hardly eat any beef.I kill two deer every year with my bow,a couple turkey, and catch some walleyes. It doesn't get any better.I have a doe so far this year ,but I haven't got my buck yet.I let a nice one walk this morning,I hope I don't regret it.The deer here in Ohio get all fattened up on corn and soy beans. That is a nice buck Pat.If you need any help getting him give me a call.ha-ha
