Slick 60's

I am looking to convert my 64 F-100 to disc brakes. I seen a kit in speedway for $289.00 with shipping. I thought that was a real good price. A lot cheaper than I have seen it any where else. I was wondering if any of you guys bought this kit and if so is it any good or should I go with the one from CCP. Thanks for any info.

The only thing CPP actually produces is the brackets I believe. That is a pretty good price and Speedway is a great company I believe also that Speedway's kit is based on CPP's brackets. If they give you CPP's instructions with them - they are vague at best. The reason I did this;

Actually a pretty nice Saturday Project.

I went with the CPP kit. Everything was as easy and good quality. Can't remember what I paid as it has been awhile but I got one of their free shipping deals on ebay at the time. I also bought one of their duel masters. All made a giant difference.

I used a company called ECI Hot Rod Brakes and have been very happy. In fact, I believe I was the first one to convert to disks back before we were Slick 60's. I think it was when we were on Excite.

The only issue is finding the correct length rubber hoses for the front.
Somehow, the trucks don't all measure out the same.
I suggest that you measure what you need and get in touch with In-line Tube and have them make you a set out of stainless and teflon for about the same price you'd pay at Autozone for the rubber ones.

your local Hydraulic hose repair crowd should be able to make them for you!

Most hydraulic shops can make them, but won't because of liability issues.
Besides, the fittings are expensive and there isn't a big enough demand for custom brake lines to make it profitable to stock all those different fittings and the special DOT rated hose.
Why?
America seems to have an overabundance of lawyers and they all have Bimmer and M-B payments to make.
Besides, In-line does a great job and the SS/ Teflon really looks cool for not much else money.

I got the one from speedway. $287.00 with shipping. I came with everything. No master cylinder. I have a master cylinder from a 70's f-100 with disc drum set up. Hope it works.

I bought that kit from Speedway about 2 years ago. I installed it on my 63 but the truck hasn't been completed yet. I was very pleased with it. The brackets were made by CPP as I recall and the installation was easy. you do have to grind a little off the back of the calipers for clearance, but I think you have to do that with other kits as well. It's a good kit for the money in my opinion.
