Hey guys! Name is Carson im in North Arkansas, I found this site over on FORDification.com where Im at all the time!
I was on Craigslist and found a 1966 F-250 4X4 352 4speed a few weeks back up in MO! Drove up there on a Saturday to take a look, Well I drove it back home with no Brakes or a Clutch that day! HAHA Its not to bad of a truck! Who ever did the the paint on the truck had no clue what they was doing so its one of them 10 feet away at night paintjobs! I put some more photos of it in my Album.
I need a few little things for it but thats another post!

Congrats and welcome from North Carolina.
Re: New Guy New Truck! 1966 4x4
nice 4x4 congratulations.
btw i thought the f250 4x4's came equiped with the wrongbed or flareside only while the f100 4x4's offered the proper styled bed?. i'm not sure just throwing it out there maybe someone can clear that up.
in any event nice to see another 4x4 saved.

Welcome from Nebraska. Looks to be a factory F250 4x4. I'm curious how the wrong "wrong" bed was made to fit the shorter wheelbase. Was the back axle moved back or was the bed modified in some way?
Re: New Guy New Truck! 1966 4x4
Nice 4x4..... hey from Washington state. Yes there are a few inconsistancys on this one. Front bumper is either aftermarket or off of a later model. I did the same on my 65 till I can get the original bumper straightend and rechrome. Maybe its just me but whole truck looks like it sits a little low for 60s F250 4wd running gear. Does the cab have a step inside of door or just the floor meeting the door. If the original step cab then Im guessing something was done with the running gear to get the bed to fit. At any rate it all looks like it was well done.tomsrod wrote:Welcome from Nebraska. Looks to be a factory F250 4x4. I'm curious how the wrong "wrong" bed was made to fit the shorter wheelbase. The Cab does has the step inside of the door!!! Running gear looks to be all factory! The way everything fits under there! We decoded the vin Every thing matches with the truck!HiBoy63 wrote:Nice 4x4..... hey from Washington state. Yes there are a few inconsistancys on this one. It is a Canadein Truck . I know the Mirrors on doors are newer! I do have the old ones. On the Bumper some PO made some brackets to move the bumper away from the grile a few inches! Im going to make a bumper out of some steel tubeing and pipe, Im gonna use this truck for the ice and snow this winter! Do you all want me to get some Photos of under the truck?
This truck was 2000$ I did get some 15inch 8lug 10 inch wide rims with this truck! There is another truck in LittleRock for 5000 and its nothing but rust!
Edit! I just REran the VIN IDK what happend but first time I ran it, it says 4x4 Canadein truck! THIS time says 2WD and KsMo plant! what the ------!!! who knows they might of put another door on it and never did switch the tags! I know the truck was yellow! has yeller pain under the dash and a few spots where the blue paint has some chips there is yeller under it!

Re: New Guy New Truck! 1966 4x4
a 2wd tag
f250 4x4 would start with F26, wheelbase 120"
so looks like the door has been changed as the stepwells are correct for the 4x4.
door tag # 782584 = nov 1965

Re: New Guy New Truck! 1966 4x4
there are correct factory trim for the steps, i just sold a set. problem with the 4x4 and f350 is the battery hole, if you use the trim on the passenger side then you have to cut a hole in the carpet or floor mat to get access to the battery.
on another note the 4 spoke steering wheel and skinny column tube confirms the frame is original 66 f250 4x4.
frame vin is stamped in 2 places on the passenger side rail top, 1 is under the cab, the other somewhere between the core support and the trans crossmember

Re: New Guy New Truck! 1966 4x4
I agree with Ice. PO probably changed the door and did not change the warranty tag. Another place to check for original vin is on the title. If paper work has not been changed it should still be valid for what the truck is. Might just be the angle fo the pics making the truck look like it is sitting lower than it is or it could be the newer styleside bed on it. The cab looks identical to my 65.
