LOl...

I am at that point too.... But painting the truck flat black with red wheels would look retarded to me lifted...

So I guess I am going low.

I don't think you're getting an answer because people don't have an opinion, I think you're not getting replies because its almost impossible to answer your question the way its being asked.
What you do to it pretty much depends on your personal vision of what the overall idea for the truck is going to be...... Hot Rod, Rat Rod, Resto-mod, Restoration?
Surprise us. I promise you it will be appreciated no matter what way you go.
Just don't put a brand X motor in it.
BTW, welcome to the family.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Well thanks for that. I just want to do the right thing to this truck and there are not that many out here by me so I want this thing to really turn some heads. As far as the motor goes it has the original 292 in it and I really think we are going to keep it that way thing runs like a top just needs to be resealed and my dad had already got all the gaskets for it but I will for sure be putting p some photos up on it as soon as we get it here in the shop and out of the garage thanks guys I will keep in touch

That's a great decision!

It really is your decision on the ride height. They can look good under all 3 circumstances. There really is no right way.

One way we could help is to post pictures of our trucks and indicate lifted, lowered, or stock, and by how much where applicable.

I'll start. 3" lower up front, stock worn out in the rear. I am going to level mine out.

welcome from Alaska

your truck, your choice

im a 4x4 guy, prefer stock height on 2wd , not into climbing a ladder to get in a 4x4 either.

glad to hear your going to run the y block.

If it's a short bed you have, I'd lower it. I'd leave a long bed truck at the stock height, or raise it a taste with slightly larger tires (same size all around). :2cents:

I'm for stock (depending on the tire size).

I like a mild 2-4 in drop and level it out.

Lifts are for 4x4s.

If you are keeping the Y block I would go for the resto-mod look. Lower it a bit, new wheels, trans and brake upgrades, stock insides and keep all the badging.

If its a 2wd, I like em lower. But 4 wheelers I actually prefer at stock height, not jacked up. As others have said, it depends on whether you have a short bed or long bed, as well as what kind of wheels/tires you want to run. The 'look' is all part of a complete package.

I'm for stock but agree with Skipper, it will look good regardless.
