Got the steering rack and tie rods in.

Frame and suspension are going back together with the new rear axle. Rear bag brackets have to be shortened due to the size of the bags. Exhaust and cab are going on tomorrow. I may make a trip to the driveshaft shop and order that as well. Bed should be coming this weekend with any luck. My painter is available in February so I am going to hustle and see if I can get it to that point.

Exhaust stack will be lower when trimmed but you get the idea. The exhaust itself is done as well.

Framing for the new bed floor has began as well.

First time I've looked in this thread, this is just to cool! I love the 'big truck' hot rods. Nice work!

Yeah it will. I using the factory wheel wells...or what's left of them lol. I got two of my four pieces of bedfloor today. I have to switch a couple of bars around as the spacing is a little off but they should work good. The bedfloor is going to be made out of 2'x4' repo sections of corrugated bed floor. Should have all day to get working on it tomorrow so I am hoping to begin mounting it.

I see you have made progress. Be sitting low and like exhaust routing up through the bed area. Tony

Long bed tool box was cut down to make a box for my short bed. It was rather time consuming but not terribly difficult. Bed is also mounted and once the tool box is in, I can sheet the floor. The driveshaft is being made currently as well. I did hear some unfortunate news about my gauges though. I had hoped to use the original gauges with two air gauges from a big truck from an f700, but after speaking with several places, the cost to do so will be outrageous due to the amount of work involved, somewhere in the range of 1200-1600, which is out of my price range. So, I will have to use some aftermarket gauges unfortunately :(.

Here is some progress on the bedfloor. I am trying to make it look half way original aesthetically, however some things had to be changed for obvious reasons lol. Oh and the tubs are not finished yet, just sitting there to get an idea of where it's going.

All of my air tanks and such will be under the bed. The reason that it so high in the front is due to how the stack wraps over the frame. I didn't want any exhaust tubing coming through the bed other than the stack so the decision was made to just raise the bed floor. I wasn't a fan of it but aesthetically I think it will look the best. I did install the bedside tool box as well so there isn't as much room under there as you think. I made the bed to bolt down from the top like they do from the factory so if I need to get under there, I can just unbolt the bed. That being said, I also need to make my tailights have a disconnect that is reachable in the event that the bed needs to be removed.

Bed floor is all in, just need to do to the final welding of it for it to be done.

I also got the hole in the floor patched for the exhaust. Did get some bad news, found out that the front track width is just a touch too wide so it looks like I will be making new control arms and having the wheels modified to make it all work. Sad part is that its not a hard fix, just a lot of money lol.

Looks good Justin! Can't wait to see it done...at least you are running into these issues before paint and final assembly...I've been dumb enough to not double check stuff and painted, then ended up repainting

That's my biggest fear of something not working if I paint it first. I am going to get it running first and then tear it back down for paint.
