Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
Thank you sir, I am trying to get it running before we buy a house because I know I will be screwed for time and cash once we buy one.

Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
Here is an update: Rust sucks lol. I have been patching and cutting out rust in the cab for the past couple of weeks and its just really tedious to do. I still have no rear axle but the guy is going to start on it soon (hopefully). Really hoping to get it as a roller this month pending on the axle but it seems doable. With any luck, we will be in a house in June so time is short lol.

Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
Ended up having to order new floor pans and cab mounts after finding even more rust. Got the driverside about done today.
LMC products fit real good btw.
Still have a large hole in the passenger side to attend to.
AND even more rust is found in the cowl hurray!
Should have more pictures tomorrow after a hot rod show in the morning

Sweet build!
Me and a buddy of mine were just talking about this swap the other day!.....would it be possible to do a mid to late 80s Cummins and a 5 speed and keep the stock firewall and floor pan?

The intercooler would be water to air.....and would be mounted under the dash

Correct that was makeshift jig for the body mounts so that I could do them with the body off.

I looked into that but it wasn't terribly efficient under load.SixtySix Ford wrote:thenephilm wrote:Not if you want an intercooler

May I ask why? Im not saying your wrong but Ive used Water to Air in my (street/strip) turbo mustang for years and never had issues...My guess of what your saying would be if you didnt have ice water in your tank it wouldnt be that efficient....

Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
I am sorry, I should have phrased that differently. It is efficient but I guess in my circumstance I am looking for something that is a little less maintenance heavy, such as an intercooler rather than something that has to be sustained. I looked into water meth injection as well and it just didn't seem viable as I will be using it for towing for long distances.

Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
Got some brush on seam sealer today and an underdash AC unit at a swap meet. I had planned on running a bench seat in the truck but due to the trans tunnel, I am starting to believe that buckets would fit and look better. May have some mustang seats tracked down for use.

Nice work, did you score the AC at the Springfield swapmeet?

Bottom of floor is finally finished and ready for seam seal and paint.
I will be out of town on June 24th unfortunately for car show in Mississippi but if I don't go for some reason I'll have to check that show for sure.

Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
Thanks for the compliments. I have been doing some metal work to the cab as the guy who is supposed to get me my axle has been dragging his feet. Once I get that in place, I can start running all of my lines and exhaust and get the bed going.

Re: 66 f100 with air ride and cummins
