Deja Vu

So, I joined Slick 60's back in 2007 when I finally picked up a Unibody. Within 3 months of joining, we had accepted jobs in Missouri and had to unload some of my projects before making the move from Texas. Well, here I am again. I picked up a second unibody almost 4 years to the day from the last one, only this time around in much better shape. A buddy and I spent two weeks thrashing on it back in September and made it to the last Hunnert Car Pileup.

This truck will be a lifer for me and will go through several builds. For now it is my drive-able patina'd project (have a '37 Chevy and '47 Pontaic Torpedo that are my non-driving projects) so I am doing things that will only take it out of commission for a couple days at a time.

This picture was taken as we arrived at the Hunnert Car Pileup and installed the homemade salt flat disk to cover the '96 Ford wheels so we could get in.

This picture was taken after the guy was finished with my pinstripping at the show.

The truck currently has a c-notch with springover axle done on the back and eaton 3" drop springs on the front. The rockers sit at 9.5" from the ground and level. I am currently trying to figure out what I want to do for steelies and caps, which will be done in the next few weeks. At that point I will put a taller tire back on the front. This summer I will be getting a Sid's 3" drop axle for the front.

It's running a 351w/c4 with 3.0 gears and we just picked up an aod to swap in so we can afford to drive it.

Anyways, I just wanted to say hello. I will probably be asking some question while I work out the details on a few projects, so Thanks in advance. Have a lot of work I want to finish this summer so I can spend my winter on the '37 in the garage.

Also looking for a better grill and a good gauge set if anyone has one laying around.

Thanks, the tailgate was "rebuilt" by the previous owners brother. It was a little rough around the edges so we did a quick cleanup and then I went to a friends shop and borrowed his louver press. That is the first set of louvers I have ever pressed and I did everything myself, so I'm pretty happy with it. Of course it took me about three times to get my grid work of lines drawn out the way I wanted them.

That sounds good.

I ordered wheels and caps last night, will order the tires once I am done painting the wheels, so should have updated pictures in a few weeks. Then I just have to let my wife forget about those two purchases so I can order my dropped axle. 8)
