New to the stable

Post by BigMike »

Well, I decided I just didn't want to spend $45k-$50k on a GT500 Convertible. So I started thinking of other cars that I LOVE and started searching for a clean, low mileage 964. I've owned Porsches in past but the 964 is my all time favorite model and I've never had one.

I fly to West Palm Beach on Friday to pick it up and drive home. I'll spend a day or two in Florida and get some sun though.

Here she is!

Beautiful car! I love Porsches. Have only owned one, a '68 912 I bought just out of the Navy.
Learned early on that anyone can BUY a Porsche, but it takes a RICH MAN to own (i.e. maintain) one :-)
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

PM me your cell. I'll give you a ring depending on the time I'm blasting through. No definite plans yet. Only know I'm flying to FL and arrive at noon on Friday. Staying with a buddy Friday night. Not sure if I'm going to swing through Daytona to see my cousin or blast home.

Excuse my ignorance but why is that a 964 and not a 911?

It's a 911 but type 964 (90-94). All Porsches have a factory type.

type 993 (95-98)
type 996 (99-05)
type 997 (06-11)
type 991 (12- )
Boxster type 986 and 987
944 Turbo is a 951
etc.
etc.

My adventure to get the car went great. I got home Sunday afternoon without any incidents and had a great weekend in FL.

So how fast did you get it up to on the trip back?
As my dad used to say, somewhere there was a horse that died a painful death from terminal constipation due to missing a key part of its anatomy.
