While the same block was used for the 292 and 312 engines (which can lead to a considerable amount of ID confusion the 292 and the 312 have several differences other than bore/stroke) the stock bore stroke dimensions of the various Y-Block engines are all different:

239 cu.in. 3.50X 3.10"
256 cu.in 3.62X 3.10
272 cu.in. 3.62X 3.30"
292 cu.in 3.75X 3.30"
292 HD trk 3.75X 3.30"
312 cu.in 3.80X 3.44"

If someone truly wants to know more about the Y-Blocks here's a couple of websites to visit:
http://ford-y-block.com/index.html (John Mummert is pretty much the Y-Block guru and his site has lots of good information (too much to digest at one sitting :-)) If you want to know what the cubic inch possibilities for the Y-Block are, check out John's "Stroker Kits"
Tim McMasters (who is also a member here) is a very knowledgeable Y-Block guy and his site also has scads of information. http://yblockguy.com/
He ran a Y-Block Slick (believe it was a 338 cu. in. at Bonneville and is building a new engine for next season.)

Ya missed one Gerald. Ted Eaton has a lot of y block knowledge. Hes had several 500 HP plus engines on his dyno from his shop.

Kenny: I didn't really miss Ted, I sort of left him out on purpose. I consider his site almost a "Master's Degree in Y-Blocking". Figured someone without Y-Block knowledge would have plenty to chew on with the first two sites, then if their interest is piqued, then they can advance to Ted's site.

Yeah I know. Hes why my Y is what it is so I like to throw his name out there. Hes a little harder to find than the others.

Just for the record the engine in the Uni is 304ci (.080 over 292), I'm limited to 305 in D class. the 338ci Y was in the FED but has been replaced with a 350ci Y. The 338 is now sitting in my Model A Tudor chassis. :D

Yes, Ted is the man I get my advice from.

Oops! :( Guess I had the "338" number stuck in my head as I had been following your Model A build. What cubic inches for the "new" Bonneville engine?

The "New" one is 304. Last year it was 301, although it still says 301 on the hood. There will be a bigger one in the future but that will mean a class change and some big changes to the truck. It will still look the same though. :)

Anybody need a good driver side door shell for a 66? It has been worked, shot with z-chrome sprayable body filler and primed. I'd bring it if someone wanted it, but not sure if I'm gonna bring it otherwise.
I also have a ready to paint upper piece that goes over the grill and a few small parts, including several front blinker bezels.
I have a black dash pad that's seen better days, but not awful. I painted my dash and like it better that way. Any takers?
Edlebrock valve covers for an FE motor.
Ford Turbine hubcaps off a later model. 15 inch.

I can email you pics but I can't figure out how to attach them to this post.

Haven't ever checked bores or looked it up. I do know there are differences in the crank and rods. Several problems with the 12 heads and mains being a big problem. The ECG head s had a problem of cracking, and main bolts holes in the block would crack . This was sometimes caused by whoever did the work on the engine. If, you decide to overhaul one, be sure to check for main bolt stretch, and clean out all the main bolt holes. This is very critical on the mains. I've located a 292 in a 60 model 1 ton that has a supposedly good engine. I looked at it but did not start the engine. It has the ECZ G heads at least on the one side. It's almost impossible to see the other head while in the truck. Especially when your fighting the briar patch it was parked head into. I was told the engine had been run a few months ago. Belongs to an old farmer out in te country.
