Sand Blasting

Post by cwindsor »

If I tear down the firewall forward what would be the going price to have it sand blasted?

I am thinking the Hood, Grill, Fenders, Fender wells, Rad support...?

Just trying to test the waters..

Thanks!

Media blasted not sand blasted :D . Pricing I cant help you with but the only things you want sand blasted on your truck are chassis parts . Body panels you will want media or baking soda blasted :D.

I was told media blasting just removes paint, not rust. Sandblasting takes off everything and is what I had done on my cab and doors, it was $350 for all that which i think was well worth it and am going to have my fenders, hood etc done also when I get to the front of the truck. However if the shop is not experienced they can warp the metal!! So just find a shop thats been around for awhile with a good reputation and see what they say.

its pretty tough to warp the sheetmetal on these old trucks by sand blasting.... the newer thinner stuff can and will warp for sure!
