Hi all! I'm new to the slick60's site, and I'm bringing you guys pics of my first slick for show and tell. I got myself a 64 with the original 223 and a 3 on the tree. Right now, Im basically cleaning it up and getting it back into driving shape. Im in college, so progress will be slow but I eventually plan on doing a full overhaul and making this truck look like it just rolled off the San Jose assembly line. I'm having the head rebuilt, because i found multiple valve issues on 2 cylinders and the cylinders themselves look pretty good and feel smooth. Some more info on the truck, it was purchased in March of 64 from Delta Ford Inc. in Moscow, ID by the previous owner who had passed a long time ago and it appears to have spent a long time in storage. So, in his honor for keeping it in decent shape, I'm taking the truck into my care.

I have more pics, so Ill get to work on making an album. Basically with my engine work being on pause, Ive had a good amount of time to clean up the interior and paint.
My main set is here:

Thanks everyone!
The 64 (f250 it was?) 3 door crew in my album along with the 65 4x4 f100 were some trucks I ran into about the same time as I picked up the 64. As much as I wanted that yellow 65, there was more work in it than I would be able to handle. Most of it being the sheet metal aspect. That truck was near Moscow, ID. It's not on CL anymore, so I think someone might have swooped in on it. I believe I did see the seller in FTE as Vandal21. So, if anybody is interested in what he has, that's probably the best way to find him. Ill keep you all posted. I love working on it whenever I get the chance, everybody who passes by either gives it a good look or stops to talk about it.

Company was around from 1912 to ~1966, not a bad run.....

Thank you,
Yes, it does appear that the Ford truck was the choice of many in this region. You can pretty much drive around the outskirts of town and spot a slick peaking out from behind a shed or barn. Even just down the street from where I'm working on mine, there is a 63 uni parked out front of a house.
I did find my leak though. Weather stripping on the door is folded under on the the door right above the top hinge on both passenger and drivers side.
My work is on pause at the moment because I'm waiting on my cylinder head to be completed up in Spokane. Good news is there wasnt any cracks or warping. Just warn out valves, guides, seals, and seats. Im confident that its the only thing making this truck smoke, as it would take around 5 seconds or so for it to appear so I think my rings and cylinder walls are still pretty solid. Just a nagging feeling I have is its still gunna smoke a little more until its all properly lubricated. Time will tell and it is an adventure!

Hi all!
Been a while since I've been here, but I thought I'd give you all an update since I've mainly been active on the Slick facebook page. The old girl runs! My only problem in the engine department now is a carburetor that has some pretty bad issues with the idle circuit. To drive it, without flooding it, I still have to run just slightly choked on city streets and mainly have an idle around 1000 rpm. Idle mix screw does absolutely nothing. I have a member who is offering a replacement, and I just have to find the time to go take a road trip to get it with school and all. Still need a total brake job and newish front spring set, and then I can get to the body work come spring. Also I now have a custom made front seat which was a birthday gift!

The truck really came together and I'm actually very happy with the cruising speed I get with the 223. Up to 70 mph! Just don't want to push my luck.
Maiden flight for gas!

Heres my new wrecking yard chrome bumper. One of the straightest I've ever seen. Sorry, looks awkward, phone messed up and I ended up taking a video instead before I put it away for the Winter.

So anyway, that's where I've gotten to. Hope you all enjoy!
